Trump will be breaking the precedent established by past presidents in not attending the ceremony on Thursday, where he could likely encounter special counsel Robert Mueller, a former FBI director who is now leading the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
I'm sure if he had went, and spoke to Mueller, the narrative would have been that he's trying to intimidate Mueller, or make a deal, or threaten to fire him. So AS USUAL.... it's a no-win situation for Trump. The spin can go either way - and it reflects on those making the assertions.
