I noticed similar behavior in a documentary about North Korea. When the subject, a soldier, was questioned about whether people see UN as a deity or not, he started hurling insults at the documentarian. It's almost Pavlovian. The mere hint of criticism sends them all a twitter.

They voted earlier this year. 97% for statehood.
