She could try dancing away from the dinner table and see if that's a u tube hit. Mooslimjigglysmoo getting down in the downtown like a clown is uninspiring but fits in with the homeless mentally ill.
I find the responses chiding this woman for dancing in light of her religion.
You do realize and understand that there are many Christian sects which find dancing sinful and completely disallow it as well, yes? Do you carry the same concerns for those Christians who dance too?
Or is this just a way to say this woman isn't really a Muslim and therefore somehow take away from her message?
While I can appreciate this woman's high level of self esteem, I've always had a problem with approaches like hers as they make it seem like there's nothing wrong with being overweight, which is absolutely not true even if only from a health perspective. Not to mention that, while I see her video as an attack against what she sees as "western" beliefs, I would note to the woman that many in the Muslim would would see her punished for dancing and not wearing a veil, etc.
I agree. I actually laughed out loud at "Muslim feminist" an oxymoron if there ever was.....
Yeah, cause we all know that the ME and other Muslim majority countries are bastions for women's rights. I'm really surprised how the far leftist types ignore all of the blatant inconsistencies that run all through Islamic culture.
In terms of the fat pride thing, meh, fat is fat, it's like putting lipstick on a pig, no pun intended.
She probably makes Muslims feel more uncomfortable than anyone else. I very much doubt that style of dance would be permitted in most parts of the Islamic world.
