Why is he offering the guy money? The soldier chose his mom as his beneficiary, not his dad. The dad tells trump he "doesn't have 2 nickels to rub together" and trump offers him 25k! For what? The son didn't want him to get his money. This is ridiculous.
This is what I don't understand also. Why is Trump writing him a check for 25K when they got at least 500K from the government.
Money. It's all trump cares about. I'd like to know more about the $25,000 he promised this gold star father. Why? Just THIS bereaved parent...what about all the others, all the widows and fatherless or motherless children???

I have this vision of you sitting in a retirement home with a Kindle or Ipad reading everything MSNBC and the View on-line posts. Am I right? Because that is what my 79 year old mother in law does all day and she has become just as mentally off balance since Trump won election.
CYA. Trump continues to make comments that he doesn't follow through on. When later challenged, he finally honors commitments. He probably would not do so unless forced into it. WH is following this course. After Trump stated he had contacted every gold star family since becoming president, the WH has been quietly sending out condolence letters to all the families that had NEVER BEEN CONTACTED BY THE WH since Jan. Some of the letters relate to deaths some six months ago. Families are only now being contacted because the president once again lied and it would soon become public. These letters are merely a CYA move. I would imagine many of these families are insulted to be getting letters so long after the deaths.
