Interesting, how if it weren't for big institutional investors that many of these liberal, welfare cities like Hartford would not any access to debt.

I guess the only reason why many of these welfare cities like Hartford have access to debt is because they figure that state will likely bail them out.

Amazing, how when ever I have been in a poor neighborhood of a poor city they people have excessive amounts of children, usually between 3 to 5 kids each.

Looks like that is what happened in Hartford a tax bonanza for welfare families and the good, hard-working people moved to the suburbs.

Seems like for decades, Hartford has had third-world birth-rates because these welfare families sit at home and pro-create more children for more welfare money.
You can't get rich on more kids. This is a very long, persistent, false myth like tofu makes you gay

Just curious, are there any major cities that are considered to be Conservative Cities?

Doesn't seem like Hartford has a particularly high birth rate. It's losing population and in 2010, only 7.6% was five and under.

By comparison, Houston had a growing population 8.1% of the people being five and under.

CT was run by Repubs from 1984 to 2010. It was run by Repubs back in the 1970s race riots.

Little or nothing to do with liberals or conservatives.

Liberal Boston and NYC are booming. People from Hartford are flocking to Boston for great jobs. That leaves behind the unskilled, disabled, and others who don't have the talent (or the desire to compete.)

There will always be deadbeats and that's probably mostly what's left in Hartford. Hard to compete with nearby Boston and NYC.

I don't think the OP would have an example of one.

Even in conservative states like TX, the cities didn't vote that way: https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/texas

If you look beyond "major" cities, you might find some. But then again, the issues facing a small/medium-sized city are quite different than the issues facing a major one...so any comparisons you make will be problematic.

The OP must be wondering why the wealthiest States are blue, and poorest are red.
