I'm really tired of watching network news. Everything that they talk about is Wienstein harassed this one and Wienstein harassed that one. It has even found it's way to my chagrin into Meet the Press.

What we need to keep in mind is that while these women are not in porn, they are in Hollywood's flesh business. All of these producers have a casting couch and if women want in to the business badly enough they pay the price of admission. Each and every one of these women are at least close to irresistible. While Wienstein handled this advantage in a fairly disgusting way, he does have the keys to the stage door.

Whose next Rosanne Barr?

No, but they could have said no and reported it, but they didn't. They wanted the role so they went along with it. I don't feel bad for them at all.

Let's put this into its proper perspective. I have a union background and I know what harassment is. Harassment is generally a repeated action or a single egregious act that creates an atmosphere where a person on the receiving end is offended or upset. The corporation usually has a policy in place that is designed to prevent performance issues arising from sexual harassment. A person asking a co worker for a date is not harassment if it was done once. The person asking should not ask twice unless invited to do so. It is potentially harassment if that person is his or her boss even if it is done once.

As far as Hollywood is concerned, the casting couch is the well known price of admission. For them to complain so many years after the fact is a publicity stunt. In effect they are saying, I'm in this club of irresistible women too. The salacious reports of I was harassed too, crowds out important news like Republican tax plans. Maybe the news is designed that way and that's what I'm complaining about.
