They are doing more harm than good. When you tell people over and over that they can’t get ahead because the system is against them, why bother trying?
I watched an exercise kids did to show their privilege. Everyone started in the back and they said things like take a step forward if you had two parents in the home, or various other things. At the end of the exercise they interviewed a black guy (all were students in college), and this guy said that even though he would have a degree he didn’t expect to make it any higher than middle management in the future. And I guarantee with an attitude like that, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What is the point of these exercises except to limit people? I think it’s an awful trend. When I was younger the trend was to tell people they could be whatever they wanted to be if they worked hard enough. Maybe not super realistic, but at least it was a positive force.
I wouldn’t even participate if I were in that class.

Population is at historic highs in the countries that are experiencing no or negative population growth. Population growth is not NEEDED. Population growth forever is actually not sustainable. Nor is it advisable in a closed system such as earth. Unless you want a world where there's 20 billion people, but less of standard of living. I'd prefer less people and BETTER standard of living with better educated and more interesting people.
In the natural world, animals that breed unchecked end up facing resource depletion deaths events as they outstrip available resources. Happens to deer all the time.
You'd think countless 20th century famine events on the continent would provide enough of an example of how that works.
But, even the Africans will eventually slow their population growth.... if they become educated. It is a pattern that is repeated everywhere women are empowered and people become educated.

The population is growing in those zero and negative growth countries because of immigration. Nature rules, regardless of how smart humans think they are. There is really no such thing as progress.....in a closed system. Every actions creates an equal and opposite reaction. Progress is simply the illusion that comes from getting the benefit of something before you are stricken with the cost.
This is what I meant by the philosophical question of which is superior.....a star marathon runner or a star sprinters. Sprinting gets you further faster......but results in total exhaustion of resources the longer you try to sustain it. The pace of a marathon runner is much slower and will be far behind the sprinter as certain points in time. However, its more sustainable, but achieves a lot less in the short run.
500 years is no time in human existence. What countries, cultures or races that are ahead now are not destined to be ahead in the future. The lands and peoples who once created civilization and were the most advanced people on earth are no longer at the pinnacle. It is really silly, given empirical data, to believe in some sort of racial or other superiority as eventually all great empires and kingdoms eventually collapsed.
Its not the African people making the earth unsustainable or exhausting its the earths resources. Its the gluttony of the West and its attempted sprint through existence.
