A population that comprises 2% of the population is responsible for 20-30% of all "terrorist" acts in this Country.
This population is not united by something that is immutable - such as race, or ethnicity or sex - but instead, they share a common ideology with a world-wide record of similar acts of terror on every continent the ideology has a presence.
And yet we are told the ideology has nothing to do with it. We are told to look the other way. We are told that our REACTION to the terror is just as bad as the terror itself. At worst, we - the victims - are BLAMED for creating the terror.
We don't do that for any other ideology that has a history and track record of producing terror.
There's not enough information yet to know anything about the perp. Eyewitnesses seem to have said an additional suspect took off on foot. I know where the West Side Highway is; I've driven on it. It's possible that the perp was drunk. Who knows?
I drive on it almost every weekend. It seems that this was not a drunk or road rage. Wish it were that as taking my kids into the city will be much harder to do if this stuff is going to start happening. It’s bad enough when I have to think twice before taking my kids to a Yankee playoff game.

They believe there was one man in one vehicle. He jumped out and shouted "Allahu Akbar." Now who does that?
Sure sounded to me like you were defending the terrorist.
Lets not let this divide us anymore than we already are. We can fight among ourselves another day, another topic. I believe we can all agree, that is a horrible thing to happen, and our thoughts and prayers should go out to these families.
