wrong.. most who object to this dont ever believe they will be at that level, but we just acknowledge that its not fair. If an inheritance is income to to the recipients, thats true if the amount of money is $50K, or $5M.. changing the amount doesnt make it income for one person while non income for another.

If someone supports this, its because they are morons..

The dead people made the money and paid taxes.

It is the living heirs - the living children who received the inheritance. That is unearned income. The living heirs never worked for this income.

Too many just don't get this fact. Too many don't understand the $5 million dollar exemption in the inheritance tax. Sad.

Some are against ALL taxes. So we do away with Police, Fire, etc. Or Military, interstate highways, etc. ?

Again, what percentage of Americans does this Inheritance affect? That number seems to be lost to many.

Maybe some forgot or never learned how to comprehend percentages.

the heirs now own the money, its origin shouldn't have to be justified. Did the state work for it?

Im against all taxes. If there is a need for a service the market will provide it and people will voluntarily pay for it.

Funny how some keep bringing up how few americans the tax will affect, as if it is some justification for the robbery.

So who really benefits from the elimination of the "Death Tax" ?
Easy fix. States can impose a tax and then use it to benefit their citizens.

I hear you. I guess you have no money or not much money and don't care if others pay death tax which is actually tax over money that was already taxed or subject to tax during the persons life.

In Europe we have death tax and it is horrible. We even have to pay over there over the part of a property you inherit EVEN if you don't get one penny until the house is sold! We had that happen ourselves and that's shocking!

I stopped here because that also means a $5000 inheritance should also be taxed.

unearned income is unearned income no matter how much they make

Death taxes are pure theft. You should be able to leave what you want to for your family. Pure government greed in action.
