It's not bad for "not real Italian" pizza. And the butter garlic sauce is pretty darn good.

Be thankful that Papa John's didn't blame the Russians

If fewer people are watching the game, then yes, sales will be down.

I'm not a fan of fast food chains for the most part but franchisees of pizza chains count on spikes in sales during the football season. Minus those usually predictable spikes, they're going to suffer and we're going to hear about it.

Mock them all you want but these are small business owners whose businesses are suffering. Not amusing, in my opinion.

As for the NFL's and kneeling players part? Viewership is down. Not sure I ever bought a product because it was advertised during a game. I am sure some do.
I bet it would taste pretty damn good as the first thing to eat after going on a hunger strike for about 45 days.

Couple points:

1) General TV viewership may not uniformly decrease by 5%. I would not want to make the assumption without facts that the NFL is equally impacted like other TV shows as it is a different type of product.

2) Attendance is down too, I would consider this as another indicator not related to the "cable cutting" movement

Hold up. I'm black and this title is misleading. He didn't blame black NFL'ers. He blame the people in charge for not putting a stop to this. I guess the argument is if they should have or not. I don't know. I don't own an NFL team. But I know you can't do that at my job or you'll be fired. They pay me to do a job. Now after work I can protest to my heart's content.

It's not just Papa John's. Other NFL sponsors are also reporting lost sales.
And the owners are keeping a low profile ...I guess hoping it goes away by itself.

"Pure Trumpism, find someone else to blame for your own flawed product."

Pure idiocy and typical of many lefties, "I don't like it, therefore it is badt"

If it WAS a failed product it would have gone out of business a LONG tome ago.

Just because You don't like does NOT mean millions of others don't.

In this case I think he's just a mediocre CEO of a mediocre chain pizza store looking for an excuse for their performance that doesn't involve him taking any responsibility.

I shook hands with Seth DeValve.

He took a knee.

I believe him to be white. You believe him to be black.

We're working on clearing this up. Put on some coffee if needs be.
