Things are certainly getting interesting with the latest events re: Comey. This article (sorry for language) provides some interesting insight to what must be going through some administration/White House official's minds.
Anonymous - so, as always, take with a grain of salt - but there are very legitimate reasons to be an anonymous source (obviously).
Some pieces from the article:
Quote:
The former FBI director—who President Donald Trump fired and then later threatened on Twitter last week—reportedly kept notes of their conversations, and some of those details are now making their way into public view. According to one of those memos, first reported by The New York Times on Tuesday, the president urged Comey to drop the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s former National Security Adviser.
The White House, through an anonymous press statement, flatly denied the Times’ reporting, which has since been confirmed by several other media organizations. (The Daily Beast could not immediately do so independently.)
Quote:
"The obstruction of justice articles of impeachment counts are stacking up, it seems,” an active duty FBI agent told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. Firing Comey, the agent added, was a “big gamble. You've got to kill him, metaphorically. You can't just wound him."
Quote:
For this story, The Daily Beast spoke with nine current and former administration and law enforcement officials, most on the condition of anonymity so they could speak freely.
These statements make things sound utterly insane in the White House (sorry for language):
Quote:
“Every time I feel like we’re getting a handle on the last Russia fiasco, a new one pops,” a White House staffer told The Daily Beast on Monday evening. On Tuesday, after reports of the Comey memo began to circulate, the staffer revised that assessment: “I guess I was wrong about the timing,” the staffer said. “We can’t even wrap up one Russia fiasco before we’re on to the next one.”
A senior official in the Trump administration, who previously worked on the president’s campaign, offered a candid and brief assessment of the fallout from that string of bad press: “I don’t see how Trump isn’t completely f***ed.”
Quote:
According to Comey’s account, Trump told him, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go,” the Times reported. “He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”
That plea, if relayed accurately, could veer dangerously close to criminal activity, according to national security attorney Brad Moss.
Quote:
"This is now a consistent pattern of obstruction [of justice] by the President,” said Clint Watts, a former FBI special agent and Daily Beast contributor.
Quote:
One official in the Justice Department wasn't quite so sure. “In legal terms, this doesn't look like further evidence of obstruction of justice," the official told The Daily Beast, adding: "It does look like further evidence of consciousness of guilt.”
Good grief, even as somebody who feels that this current administration is an embarrassment, I'm starting to get tired of all these "anonymous" staffers claiming this or that. Put up, and do us all a favor by taking action, or quite frankly shut up.
Not a good time for Trump to be out of Washington.
Wednesday he's at a naval academy in Connecticut, and Thursday he's off to the Middle East and Europe... leaving Spicey to take the flak.

I agree with you, actually. I totally get why someone would remain anonymous (I certainly would...). But I do wish some people would throw their names in the ring to add some teeth to what's being said.
I imagine if Comey publicly testifies re: his memo, things will become more clear on what's true and what isn't.
That said, I do think often when there is smoke, there is fire, though...and, well, we have a lot of smoke.
Lol.. what a stretch. No obstruction of justice how we ridiculous the Liberals are losing it again. Look up the meaning of obstruction of justice. No evidence was tampered with. No lying under oath. Hillary should have been charged with obstruction of justice. Trump not even close.

These leakers are nothing but a bunch of chickens spreading rumors and innuendo. Where is the actual proof.?

You are right of course, it is easier said then done to just put your neck on the line, like that. But I just think it has become tedious. Eiher this administration is in even a bigger state of chaos than I even imagined or some people are jumping on the bandwagon.
Of course in either case, one could argue it does not speak for Trump, that so many of his staff are seemingly fed up with him already.

Absence of proof isn't evidence of absence. Of course - it's not proof, either.
Let's watch this play out and then re-assess later. Especially if Comey speaks publicly on the matter to Congress (something I expect to happen very soon given the invitation from Graham).

I wonder what makes them hate their boss so much, that they would lower themselves to such measures......
Never happened before like this under ANY administration I can think of, left or right leaning.
Does not speak for Trump.
