Seriously? He and the Nazis were ALL ABOUT subjugating the individual to the benefit of the collective society. He even explicitly stated that the individual should be required to learn that their duties were NOT to themselves, but to the collective state.

"The higher interests involved in the life of the whole...must set the limits and lay down the duties of the interests of the individual." - Hitler, speaking at Bueckeburg, October 7, 1933

The problem is people can't go beyond words. If stalin says his government is socialist, it just means it is a lie. People can't something as simple as this. I just explained what socialism means, that has never happened in the history of nations, except in the Catalonia revolution for a little while, but they were in the middle of a civil war.
Let's not derail the topic.

Why is socialism actively promoted rather than universally condemned?

Not necessarily. Look at the high suicide rates in Scandinavia.

We're a nation of suckers.
This amazes me as well! The 0.1%s really have us bamboozled. They misdirect our attention with side issues, (race, abortion, who is going to win the latest reality show) while they take everything of value.

Everything you are saying is just parroting propaganda.

This thread is full of such dupes.

Conservatives used to talk about cutting waste in the federal government. Now they talk about raising taxes to feed the machine further. How times have changed!

If you're having a problem understanding that, think a mortgage amortization table, in reverse. In a mortgage, the interest is front-loaded as that's when you owe the most money. In savings/investments, it's exactly the opposite... The more equity you have invested, the greater the amount of the return on the investment.

It's basic math, which I realize is very difficult for many to understand. The lesson, there? Do NOT live beyond your means, and save and invest early and often.
That's a great comparison! Banksters and the usurious ways, (just look at your 29% interest rate Amex Card if you miss a payment) and the unfair advantage that the 0.1%s get through lobbyists, politicians and an unfair tax code.

Rather it's us who are voluntarily surrendering.
