You only need one if you’re not some major shady character. Manafort had 3 passports and tried to get 10! Plus, he has traveled under several aliases. What is he trying to hide?
Now, Manafort is trying to post 10 million dollar bond (Bernie Madoff also had a 10 million dollar bond) and trying to deny he is a flight risk (even though he has more passports than a spy novel villain). He should be in jail awaiting trial. Although, if he flees the country it’s over for Trump. The more light that’s put on Trump and Co the more the roaches scurry.
Then there’s the issue of his small collection of three U.S. passports, which is apparently fewer than he’d like to have. In the past decade he’s submitted applications for ten different passports, the filing said.

As for the phone with a "false name" - anyone ever traveled to a Foreign Country with an unlocked phone and bought a SIM card? I have, they don't care what name you give them or even how you pay for it. Same thing in the USA - it's called a "pay as you go phone" with no credit card required or even a credit check.
The REAL Mystery is "why is this stuff about 3 passports and phone even in the Special Counsel Indictment?. They must know it's perfectly LEGAL to have more than one passport and a phone that is not in your real name ...... so what was the point of this?
It's not the only thing very odd about this Manafort Indictment and the No Knock Raid in the dark -- but it's one that really stands out.
If Manafort is guilty of the crimes he's accused of committing, lock him the hell up. I do find it funny, however, that of the indictments handed down, none of them have anything to do with "collision"
We've been saying all along that this is nothing more than a fishing expedition. Had their been any evidence of collision/law-breaking in that regard, trust that those indictments would've been the first handed down. Note, it is particularly disturbing that the entire basis of this phony investigation came from a trumped up investigation funded by the Dims/Crooked Hillary (which they broke the law to conceal by not listing the multi-million dollar expenditure on campaign finance filings) that included actual collision with foreign agents to (guess what?) influence the election in Crooked Hillary's favor. The irony is too much for many leftists to handle, so they conveniently ignore this bombshell.

The left doesnt want you to know this.. they keep shouting Russia Russia Russia..
they treat their voters like stupid idiots expecting them to believe there is a linkage..

"collusion", surely.

Ah, but that's where you're wrong. You should read up on Mueller. He made himself a name on getting mafia lieutenants to flip on their families, and his MO has never been to lead with the crime he's investigating.
Economic crimes like the ones Manafort have so far been indicted for are fairly easy to prove if you have the manpower, because it's essentially paperwork. No witnesses who may or may not wish to cooperate. Thing is, they're still very uncomfortable charges - as in, years in prison. Once you have that truth sinking in, that's when you present the other charges you are getting ready to file. The much worse ones, but also the ones that are harder to prove - only, you don't tell the inmate that.
To many, the words "plea bargain in return for cooperation with the investigation" start sounding pretty damn good at that time. That's what Papadopoulos did - small(ish) fish, but he was offered the option of entering a guilty plea and started making phone calls of the "Remember when we met with those Russians on that date? Good times, good times" variety. And in return, he'll probably walk.
