Agnostic here, former Sikh, not Christian, but I can easily acknowledge the value of Prayer in Religion, just as I can see the value of meditation, modern Psychiatric therapy, and non- religious communities coming together in times of need.
Not that hard to figure out, people coming together in prayer provides hope and support, and will aid in their recovery. The continued ridicule by "Supposedly" Liberal people against people who believe in prayer, or just find it helpful, proves how un-Liberal these people are.
All placebos are a comforting lie.
Not everyone wants to be “deceived for their own good.”
I believe there are people that do not believe in God. Which is fine. We don’t have to all believe the same.
I also believe that those who do not believe along with being so angry at the world and others for believing in God, that they really do believe. They feel that have been stiffed or gotten the short end of the stick and blame God. But instead they say they don’t believe in him.
People who pray regularly know that it much more than the act of supplication (making a wish and blowing out a candle).
It is a spiritual communion with God ( meditation )
It is a Thanksgiving (gratitude , appreciating and showing of kindness in return.
It is Adoration (homeage and worship of our beloved God)
and
Confession ( absolvement for past sins by way of sacrament of Penance).
People are susceptible to being a statistic regardless of religion.
All living humans will one day take their last breaths regardless.
People come together for each other in times off good and in times of bad. All are invited to show
emotional support. No one is excluded.
Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of death ,I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your satff, they comfort me.
Why do you care what other people of faith think? It is not hurting you if someone feels peace at praying or having a belief in a higher power. Clearly people on here are pushing their atheist agendas, but why does it bother you that people believe in a higher power. Are you just being a pot stirrer?
I'm not an atheist.
I do believe in God. I just don't believe He (or She) is the magical being many others do. No I'm not stirring the pot. I'm having a conversation about something I find fascinating - religion and the existence of a higher power. If you don't like what I have to say, place me on ignore. I'm being respectful and not breaking TOS. So why do YOU care what I write and think?

I've never said I don't believe in God. Yes, I am confused and angry with the world and with a God that allows a grown man to shoot babies point blank in the head.
