Actually I was in high school in the early 70s. I can tell you, it was NOT common for 17 and 18 year olds to date 30 year olds. Most of the 18 year olds I knew who married out of high school married their high school sweethearts.

They would have taken any Republican even if it wasn't their first choice. But they know Moore is poison. Maybe not in backward Alabama, but given what is going on throughout the country right now, they know they can't afford to alienate more than half of the population and expect to survive in the long term.

The fact that they are talking about refusing to seat him if he wins is telling. That's a pretty drastic step. It shows you the GOP is well aware of how odious Moore is. They are already dealing with one sexual assaulter in high office. The last thing they need is another one. It will become part of their party branding if they don't stem the flow here.

Never thought I'd enjoy a GOP majority so much.

Read my post again, I didn't say it was common, I said it wasn't that uncommon.

Should I explain the difference?

I was very surprised to just see on tonight's CBS News, that even Trump has come out with a statement against Roy Moore. He was quoted as saying today, "If these allegations are true, I expect that Moore will do the right thing and step aside". If Trump, of all people, turns against him for abusing women, it can't get any worse for Moore.

You must not keep up with politics.

Both parties have histories of trying to derail the campaign of the person who isn't the choice of the party establishment.

You must not have been paying attention to what the DNC did to Bernie. You can probably Google it pretty easily.

Did you miss the IF in "If these allegations are true"?

You may want to check Alabama law. That must be what has you so confused.
I never stated otherwise, how many 32 year old men continuously look for young girls that are in high school or younger, does that appear normal. More importantly doesn’t that corroborate the story of the 14 year old.

In what crazy universe do you come from where one woman saying she dated Moore when she was 18 corroborates he molested a 14-year-old?

Sure, it's Friday, but how much have you had to drink?

I’m glad you condemn everyone who makes this defense or who continues to support Roy Moore even if these allegations prove to be true. Even someone who is confused so easily as you can find a tiny thread of moral fiber to condemn this line of reasoning. Bravo.

Republicans are now saying Moore is more trouble than the Senate seat is worth. They are willing to put their agenda in jeopardy--something they can hardly afford to do--because he would be too damaging. This is what you call being between a rock and a hard place.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving party.
