I serious issue in the United States today and the cause of so much conflict, theft and death.

Actually, it points out just how biased you are in your refusal to admit at least equal amounts of sleaze exist reside on the self-righteous right. Perhaps you can get Ted Haggard to give you a guided tour.

The charges stemmed from accusations she illegally siphoned thousands of dollars from her charity into her own bank account for lavish parties, trips and shopping excursions.

"Congresswoman Brown and her chief of staff are alleged to have used the congresswoman's official position to solicit over $800,000 in donations to a supposed charitable organization, only to use that organization as a personal slush fund," Assistant U.S. Attorney General Leslie Caldwell, chief of the Justice Department's criminal division, said in a statement earlier this year.

A jury found Fattah guilty “on 22 counts related to misspending federal grant money and for schemes linked to an illegal $1 million loan he received from a friend to help fund a failed 2007 mayoral campaign in the city.”

The prosecutors said Fattah then “stole federal and charitable grant money to repay $600,000 of that loan.” Other schemes included accepting “$18,000 to try to help a friend win a presidential appointment as an ambassador, an effort that failed.” Instead, Fattah used that money as down payment on a Poconos vacation home “and to evade House ethics rules he said the money came from selling his wife’s Porsche.

The sentence fell far short of the three-year prison term that prosecutors were seeking for Creamer, who pleaded guilty last year to writing a series of bad checks worth millions of dollars to numerous banks to generate cash — a scheme known as check-kiting.

Bookout pleaded guilty in March to a federal wire fraud charge for spending the campaign funds on clothing, liquor, a sound system and other personal items.

Leland Yee pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering in federal court Wednesday, admitting that he “knowingly and intentionally agreed with another person” to take part in a criminal enterprise and commit at least two offenses and affect state commerce. Yee, a Democrat from San Francisco, told U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer that he admitted his guilt and knew he could face a harsh sentence, which will be handed down on Oct. 21.

Yee was indicted in March 2014 on charges of accepting $62,000 in campaign contributions in return for legislative favors and offering to arrange the sale of machine guns and shoulder-fired missiles to an undercover FBI agent posing as a mob figure.

But a story in the Laconia Daily Sun revealed that Laughton was a convicted felon who served more than four months in jail for ”conspiracy to commit credit card fraud” in 2008.

When he was fired by Bell in 2010 Rizzo had an annual salary and benefits package of $1.5 million.

The charges stemmed from accusations she illegally siphoned thousands of dollars from her charity into her own bank account for lavish parties, trips and shopping excursions.

"Congresswoman Brown and her chief of staff are alleged to have used the congresswoman's official position to solicit over $800,000 in donations to a supposed charitable organization, only to use that organization as a personal slush fund," Assistant U.S. Attorney General Leslie Caldwell, chief of the Justice Department's criminal division, said in a statement earlier this year.

A jury found Fattah guilty “on 22 counts related to misspending federal grant money and for schemes linked to an illegal $1 million loan he received from a friend to help fund a failed 2007 mayoral campaign in the city.”

The prosecutors said Fattah then “stole federal and charitable grant money to repay $600,000 of that loan.” Other schemes included accepting “$18,000 to try to help a friend win a presidential appointment as an ambassador, an effort that failed.” Instead, Fattah used that money as down payment on a Poconos vacation home “and to evade House ethics rules he said the money came from selling his wife’s Porsche.

The sentence fell far short of the three-year prison term that prosecutors were seeking for Creamer, who pleaded guilty last year to writing a series of bad checks worth millions of dollars to numerous banks to generate cash — a scheme known as check-kiting.

Yee, a Democrat from San Francisco, told U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer that he admitted his guilt and knew he could face a harsh sentence, which will be handed down on Oct. 21.

Yee was indicted in March 2014 on charges of accepting $62,000 in campaign contributions in return for legislative favors and offering to arrange the sale of machine guns and shoulder-fired missiles to an undercover FBI agent posing as a mob figure.
