Outlaw AR-15s and similar weapons. That's a start. But only a start.

In the Heller case which affirmed individuals' right to have guns, Justice Scalia wrote for the 5 - 4 majority, the 2nd amendment is "not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose."

States can outlaw these weapons. Maybe even the US government can. They can keep outlawing models until the threat to public safety is removed.

AR-15's killed the victims in Parkland, Orlando, Las Vegas, Sandy Hook, the Texas church. They have proven themselves to be unsuitable for use by the public.

Also, here are some good ideas from the NY Post, a Republican newspaper:

"Reinstate the federal assault-weapons ban..." Lapsed in 2004, bring it back. Since it lapsed, mass shooting have soared.

"Raise the age to buy firearms..." If you're too young to drink you're too young for a gun.

"Target bump stocks.." Remember the uproar from Las Vegas? Well, the gun nuts delayed and deferred until the control group wore out. As always. Bump stocks are still with us.

"Kill the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act..." This bill would allow people from concealed carry states to conceal carry in states where it's illegal. An act to spread stupidity as wide as possible.

These are reasonable measures. No one should have a gun as dangerous as AR-15. Even wanting one is evidence of serious mental offness and should disqualify a person from having one.

Scalia also referred to firearms IN COMMON USE as Constitutional. The AR-15 is the most common rifle in the U.S.

Fortunately you don't get to decide what is reasonable. The same way someone with the exact opposite view doesn't.

Do whatever is necessary to make it uncommon. Sue the gun maker, sue the gun merchants. Tax it, tax its ammunition. Tax them higher. Make is owner recertify his license monthly. Then weekly. What ever it takes.

Banning mass murderers' weapon of choice is reasonable. What is the opposite view? Give them to child killers? Train murderers how to kill the most people?

You can't sue the manufacturer unless you can show a defect they know about. You can't tax constitutionally protected right to make it harder to exercise.

I made no such suggestions......... you are engaging in hyperbole and hurting your cause. Unless your intention is just the entertainment.

Not legal, nor Constitutional. If you want to do that you need to AMEND the CONSTITUTION. See how that works out. My state (Commonwealth of PA) also has the equivalent of the Second Amendment in the state Constitution. It reads,

Quote:
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defence of themselves and the State shall not be questioned. Art. 1, § 21 (enacted 1790, art. IX, § 21).
1776: That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the state; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; And that the military should be kept under strict subordination, to, and governed by, the civil power. Declaration of Rights, cl. XIII.
State Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Provisions

The only people opposed to these basic, common sense changes are people either selling guns or people who want the "right" to shoot whoever they want.

- Mentally ill people should not have a gun. That is common sense
- Gun show loopholes should be closed. Again, basic common sense
- People on the no-fly list should not have guns. Again, basic sanity check here; if you wouldn't trust them on a plane, why the hell would you trust them with a gun?!
You are wasting you time. The gun cult has no interest in facts; they could not care less. It's all about getting what they want when they want it, no matter if it harms others or not. It does matter to them whether their selfish desires result in a world where school shootings and mass slaughter are everyday occurrences. Like a small child that knows he can get his way by stamping his foot and having a tantrum, they will point to their "2A rights" which in their mind, is complete and total justification to toss aside logic and normal human compassion. May be sick and twisted and barbaric, but that is the reality.
