wow. it's troubling that posters can be this astonishingly ignorant, yet project such smug self righteousness at the same time

District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), is a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held, in a 5–4 decision, that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home

Not that we'll due to the gun show loophole as well as enforcement in general most of the enforcement prevents suicide, not homicide or murder.
There is NO gun show loophole. I wish people would quit posting that misinformation.

Florida, the Tampa Bay area to be exact, is an entirely different area than most Americans? I said I spend half my time in both, don't lock my door in either most of the time, and don't work on the premise of fear based irrationality of needing a gun to protect myself.

"Again, you are operating from the perspective of fear"

You are NOT smart enough to diagnose me or anyone else.
Too many 2A advocates bring up the premise of needing a gun in case a criminal comes into their house. That is an irrational fear in most cases.

Guns are used, according to the FBI, from 1million to 2.5 MILLION times a year to thwart crimes.
Please provide a link where the FBI actually states that. The FBI, not the NRA. I know you can't, but go ahead, try.

Are you concerned with killings or ONLY those used by an AR-15?

That sort of puts things in perspective now doesn't it. More people die annually by knife than by AR...yet look at what is going on against the AR which is no different than any other mag fed semi auto rifle or shotgun, and not a peep about knife deaths.....and the sheep just line up...SMH

Then what is it? The Gun show loophole means private sales don't have to be backgrounder, including gun shows.

Wrong ! Any firearm purchased from a vendor will have a phone call made to the NICS , which is a background check.

Person to person sales of long guns varies from state to state, some need to go thru an FFL some don't. Same goes with handguns.
