We were sitting at a table with friends at a get together Saturday and the person to my left asked, "How did this man get elected?" He was talking about Obama. He said that he had never met anyone that said they voted for him.
Do you know anyone that voted for him. I maybe know two people that said they voted for him. How about you?
Generally the nature of things is that often folks tend to have/adopt a lot of the politics of their local area. I remember in 2004 I thought the same thing about Bush initially almost no one I knew voted for him. However shortly afterwords I took some trips out of my comfort zone to some very conservative places and soon learned exactly how Bush won. I suspect the same is true with you and Obama.

I know oodles of people who voted for Obama - oodles. Most of them complain about the economy, lack of jobs, and declining spending power. Quite a few of them are fretting over pending furloughs. I spend a lot of time biting my tongue or shaking my head.
I am a conservative in a Democratic district - hence, I am a minority.
Yeah, it happens it is just not the norm. I know some pretty liberal folks who live in SW Virginia. They are well liked, but from what I gather their neighbors think their politics are crazy.
I didn't vote for Bush either. I guess you can ask me who I voted for and figure out who will lose. LOL
I would be surprised to hear that you voted for Kerry or Gore.
