Sounds like the plan is DOA, and to make matter worse, they are trying to insert ACA repeal into it as well

Blue Dogs oppose GOP tax package | TheHill

Blue Dog leaders, after mulling the package passed by the Ways and Means Committee last Thursday, say the Republicans’ proposal breaks all the group’s guidelines for a tax-code redesign. It fails to simplify the tax code, they contend, while busting the budget, neglecting new infrastructure investments and threatening too many middle-class families with a tax increase.

The ACA repeal may be the nail in the coffin. It was before - -what has changed?

Someone suggested that the Republicans are just so anxious to pass anything they may just cave and pass it.

I hope not - I hope they think about the bill and its ramifications.

For us voters to ever learn anything, we must suffer the consequences of our actions.

So now it’s obvious they never intended to pass this tax plan.

It’s almost like they intentionally sabotaged their own bill.

No, there are many clear thinking reps within the GOP ranks. They will see that the right thing is done.

Look at this video. They argue corporations are people, so why are they stiffing the real people and pampering corporations? Should corporations not be subject to the same disadvantages under this law as real people? Real people are losing deductions, and corporations can deduct everything, even outsourcing expenses aka sending jobs out of the country.

I think it was going to fail even without the ACA mandate repeal, but now it would be a miracle if it passes.

Nah, it was doomed even before. This is just a way to have certain people vote it down again, without forcing others to vote against it.

I agree. I want to write off my utilities and expenses related to how I run my life. Any contract I make for lawn care, mortgage and service needed. I want mileage for when I go out each day and write off my golf game (wife and I go out and talk about expenses).
