No more Obamacare mandate!
A little less power for the Leviathan. It's a long, long war. But score two points for the good guys. One more small step on the way to killing the Beast.
Righteous!!!!!

So of course I want to get rid of it.
Don't you???
No, I don't. I don't like the idea of a hospital kicking someone out if they think they can't pay. It's the reason EMTALA was passed in the first place

Yeah, this has killed the beast according to republicans...it's killed the middle class. And we all pay for your healthcare if you don't have any. How do you think that's fair

They didn't, the ones kicked out ended up succumbing to their injuries and either became cripples (when they didn't have to if treated) or died

You provide a good illustration of the laughable ignorance that defines conservative approaches to healthcare. With this kind of thinking pervading the base, we can safely expect that whatever comes after Obamacare will fare far worse in terms of affordable healthcare access - as was the case before.
Its not like hospitals give those on low incomes a free pass on their ER visits and other treatment, or pass the bill onto wealthier people.

I remember when I was in my early 20s, not making hardly any money and had a serious illness, my hospital bills were close to $15K, they most certainly did not just pass the bill onto someone else or just write it off, they eventually garnished my wages until they had recouped the money.

Obviously that's an option that none of us has.

Hospitals do get help with the unpaid bills – from taxpayers.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-er/445756001/

Those costs have prompted financially strapped hospitals to rely on a complex system of shifting costs. Most of the burden falls on taxpayers, with the government providing tens of billions of dollars annually to help hospitals care for the uninsured. Privately insured Americans also pay a price as insurers raise premiums to reflect higher charges from hospitals.

Trauma in the ER: Who pays for the uninsured? | National News | pantagraph.com

....when the population of uninsured Americans increases, hospitals end up bearing the cost by providing uncompensated care. In fact, their results suggest that each additional uninsured person costs local hospitals $900 per year.

That means hospitals are effectively serving as “insurers of last resort” within the American healthcare sector by providing care to uninsured patients who cannot afford to pay their medical bills. “People are still going to the emergency room, and they are still receiving treatment, so the cost is there..."

So people that can not afford Obamacare-compliant insurance are no longer punished for not being able to afford afford it? Is that right?

My first post made it clear that this is but one small step ON THE WAY to killing the beast. But hey......when the Leviathan has hardly been even dinged up at all, over the last 50 years..........yeah, we will celebrate any victory. Even the small ones.
