Wonder what the liberals running the city are going to do with this massive pension fiasco that is taking a huge chunk of the budget so former employees can get huge paychecks for life.

The mayor pretends like he is the Mayor of Beverly Hills or Scottsdale with all the big tax increases he wants for lavish pet projects. For example, he wants to expand the mobile homeless shelter called Valley Metro Light Rail into declining, industrial, poor neighborhoods.

A city of champaign pension tastes on a beer budget. Guess the city isn't rich enough to afford all the lavish pensions.

Maybe covering expenses wouldn't be an issue if Phoenix were more like San Diego or Seattle and tried to appeal to big-spending empty nesters, singles and dual-income with no kids.

Phoenix thought that it could grow all this revenue to cover all the pension costs to having one of the largest concentration of poor families with children of any city in America. Third-world birth rates mean that much of the population of Phoenix is not working age so they can't contribute to the tax base of the city.

This whole post is ridiculous, but the bolded takes the cake. I use the light rail every day, and there aren't homeless people on the trains

My son in law uses the light rail every day and they do not live in an impoverished neighborhood.

As usual, this thread is all a load of crap.
