Well he's got a head-start over everyone else, as he's not a politician.
Politicians are not trusted by anyone, same as lawyers.
But the main reason is, Trump genuinely loves America, and that's the opposite of the Dem hierarchy.
Plus he's the most well-known man since Jesus Christ, or perhaps even more well-known than Jesus Christ.

I think it's more that the government itself is so unpopular, and Trump is pretty much crapping all over it.
