In view of our current financial status and the national debt and immigration failures and infrastructure needs we must be more focused on the USA first.

To the OP:

Americans suffer from a lack of empathy, as even a casual tour around this forum or through Trump country will reveal. Too many Americans buy into delusions of the "Entirely Self Made Man," a crackpot fantasy promoted by heartless lunatics like Ayn Rand and which has no relationship with the real world. Nobody is "entirely self made," and a huge chunk of how a person's life turns out is dependent entirely upon fate: to whom they are born, where they grew up, diseases or accidents they may have suffered, and so on. Too many Americans labor under the delusion that because things worked out fine for them, it's clearly the fault of the victim if their life didn't turn out equally well. While personal responsibility is important, it is callous insanity to think that the only thing holding most people back in life is some crap like "they are lazy and stupid."

This also ties into the equally wretched American belief in the Just World Fallacy, which is a logical fallacy that dictates that "everyone gets what they deserve in life." It is horrifically easy to disprove - visit a children's cancer ward, and then tell me with a straight face that some all-powerful entity immediately and fairly distributes justice to all. But too many Americans - right-wingers in particular with their habit of misusing religion to justify everything - honestly belief that some cosmic force balances out the scales of justice quickly and correctly. So, if you're laid off, you must have done something to deserve it. Similarly, if you're rich, you are clearly a good person because "everyone gets what they deserve in life." This is how we end up with a nation full of people who hate the poor and sick - while being too stupid to realize how close anyone is to such a fate - while at the same time worshiping a crooked, hate-filled slimebag like Trump just because he's rich.

Probably in the same place the Constitution tasks us with being the World Police and changing regimes we don't like.

The Constitution specifically mentions National Defense. Right or wrong, both Democrats, and Republicans have determined foreign wars, and other foreign military actions are part of that.

Actually, it mentions the 'common defense', and says absolutely nothing about assuming the title of World Police which most of our conflicts since WW II could be filed under.

Why do you think Kim wanted to get those nukes so badly? because the US has never attacked a nuclear armed nation! we have killed millions of poeple since WWII, and yet have hardly suffered a scratch. today we conduct wars will tiny death tolls on our side and huge numbers on our opponent's side. And just look how the USA reacted to a large terrorist attack on our soil? We invaded and bombed a whole bunch of people who had nothing at all to do with it. Why? well Americans needed to their "pound of flesh" but because it is the US, we went and got a few thousand tonnes of flesh....

Nope the USA is going down in history as a bunch of warmongers.
And some oil.

Again, the politicians of both parties have determined that National Defense, or Common Defense (we are a collection of states) means foreign military action. Do focus on semantics to deflect.

I mean seriously have you not thought this through even for a minute? In order to have a reasonable society where one does not need to be combat ready at all times , you need to provide a reason for the "losers" to not knock over the board.
i could bang on for days explaining the massive flaw in your logic 1Angry, but ya know what you can figure it out if you just spent ten minutes thinking why it is better and cheaper to "buy off the bottom" than it is to pay less tax. serious just close your eyes and think about it for 10 mins and you should be able to understand. But it does require you set aside your anger, and use that powerful tool in your skull.
especially when you live in a country where anyone can buy guns. it is like living in a glass house. whereas in other unequal economies the poor have no guns when they protest. so they have ISIS. think about THAT.
