The reason I am asking is because there has to be SOME common ground Some where we the U.S can keep spinning our wheels any longer. It's way past to start acting like adults and stop acting like 5 years olds.

Can anyone think of something that they felt good about perhaps the other party did that helped everyone?
The country is moving forward again, thanks to President Donald Trump! The "progressives" under the corrupt presidency of Barack H. Obama were moving us backward. Socialism is going backward. The "progressives" are Marxist-socialists. It's been rejected (as it should have been 9 years ago).

There is no common ground between freedom loving people and socialists.

The common ground between the parties is obvious. Divide and conquer. Power and control. Get rich doing it. Thats been politics since the beginning of time.
It used to be that we had clear objectives that both sides agreed on. Both sides being the common folks who voted. It used to be that both sides believed in the ideals of our founding fathers. The Idea that was America.
Now its all about party. Screw the nation, just make sure the party wins.

I disagree that its all about party. I think its all about ideology. the progressive left has made its play and intends to win or go down swinging. That's pretty obvious to me.

They have a significantly different view of what the country should be and there is a vast gulf between them and the conservative side.

it will get worse before it gets better

So how is the "America first" agenda a "screw the nation, party first," agenda?

"Progressivism" by it's very nature is a "screw America" ideology. "Progressives" hate the Constitution, and individualism.

Well we jail people for far to many petty crimes. That is a fact.
Infrastructure. Well just imagine how much more we could do with our infrastructure money if we kept the pork projects out of it. Or I know instead of building 40 million dollar gas stations, billion dollar power plants, etc. in Afghanistan we spent that money here.

Part of the problem?

Too many people who don't WANT to see anything good about anyone on the "other side."
