Most of the middle class has employer provided health care, which will see premium increases. The cost to those without will go up in increased premiums or medical debt.

obamacare deserves to collapse given that it was a hugely bad law to begin with. that said killing the mandate to buy something does affect the rest of the obamacare law that is still in effect. all it does is take away the requirement that you HAVE to buy something, and are being forced to buy a product by the government.

talk to congress about it. why didnt the democrats offer up anything when the health care replacement debate was going on? why didnt they support replacing a bad law that was hung, and still is hung, around their necks?

i grant that the republicans in the senate screwed up, but democrats need to step up and at least give some constructive input. they havent been locked out like republicans were in 2009 and 2010, they CHOSE to step back and not participate.

that is a rather disingenuous post, since health care insurance rates were going up more under obamacare to begin with.

And before the ACA.

But they will skyrocket with ACA requirements still in place on insurers but without the individual mandate.

Where is the Republican answer to the ACA? The problem is simply that their own solution was largely the same thing.

The GOP tax plan does not affect the subsidies from my understanding... so premiums won't increase any more than they were before the penalty was eliminated.

The mandate is grossly overcredited for enrollment in Obamacare. The penalties are minimal compared to the costs of coverage. People will keep buying insurance because they need it or want it. Unfortunately, this disrupts the Republican calculus that removing it will save 300 billion to give to the wealthy. The rich will get their money, of course, but it will come from piling it on the national debt.

once again i suggest you talk to congress, both sides of the isle. unlike the democrats in 2009-10, the republicans wanted input from the democrats, but got none.

Well if it's grossly overcredited then it's because Obama, Reid, and Pelosi were lying to the American people. They all said numerous times that the ACA wouldn't work with out it.

This is good for the young and healthy middle class who don't want HC, but worse for the older and sick who want it. They will have to pay more and/or might lose coverage in some states.

Health care rates were increasing before the ACA, they will increase more with the removal of the mandate. Millions will lose their health care so what's the GOP plan other than increase rates and kicking people off health care.
