No it won't **** off Trump's critics because this is all a marketing campaign. Like Trump selling water with his name on it.....only fools will buy it. LOL

Go read about these corporations all of a sudden claiming this new found cash will enable them to hand out bonuses.....they have been pulling in profits for years and have been paying their CEO's ridiculous bonuses.

This is a game they are playing. They will pay an employee a 1000 bonus (which is taxed of course) rather than give them an increase in wage.

Such a sour puss. You must be a barrel of laughs at Christmas parties. Oh, and yo are so wrong. Increase in pay and a bonus. Go ahead negatrons. World loves folks who are pervasively a downer.

Here is more on FifthThird Bancorp's Tax Relief Bill gratitude. I'm sure there is something negative you will find. Winning is a *****. #MAGA

Fifth Third said the tax cut allowed it to reevaluate its employee pay and pass along some of the windfall. Nearly 3,000 workers will see hourly wages rise to $15. The $1,000 one-time bonus is expected to be paid by the end of this year, the bank said, assuming President Trump signs it by Christmas.

Senior managers and top executives are excluded from the special payments.

Hey Democrats! Go suck it! You screwed the pooch this time! Bigly! Time for some major introspection....because as soon as those paychecks go up and taxes go down, your base just might start to get a little bit fidgety!

Glad to see they are raising wages to $15/hr. (what my son makes at his summer job -- manual labour position). WOO HOO. It's a start - and I stand corrected on Bancorp.

But -- I'm able to discern that while the senior staff and executives won't get the 1000 bonus -- you can be darn sure they have well compensated themselves.

You are so Hell bent on bashing liberals at every occasion you end up posting things that imply we don't want what's best for the country. Stop doing that, it damages your credibility. Many liberals are for a $15 minimum wage. Not me but that's another discussion.

So if liberals are for a $15 minimum wage and this tax cut created that then why would you claim this would **** off the libs?

What part of "pay increase" do you not understand?

Default Bank Raises Minimum Wage to $15/hr, Gives 13,500 Employees a $1,000 Bonus

It is Christmas time in America.

Fifth Third Bancorp Invests in Employees

Fifth Third Bancorp announced plans today to raise its minimum hourly wage for all employees to $15, and distribute a one-time bonus of $1,000 for more than 13,500 employees. The actions are in appreciation for the commitment employees show in supporting customers and building stronger communities.

...
Newly passed tax legislation includes a reduction in corporate tax rates designed to spur economic growth. Carmichael said the tax cut allowed the Bank the opportunity to reevaluate its compensation structure and share some of those benefits with its talented and dedicated workforce.

Carmichael said the higher wage is an important step to help support individuals, their families and the communities in which we operate. Fifth Third has a history of investing in its 18,000 employees.

Holy cow... I did not expect businesses to react this way.

The pay increase that shows up in official government statistics for the median worker is what we should understand. If we see a big increase in median pay over the coming years that cant be explained by the good economy (it increased significantly last year), then thats something. Not these random publicity stunts.
