Fun fact, immediately before this Russia pulled its advisors out of the Ukraine. The leading thought is that Russia decided to pull out as their goals were not being met, and the increasing resistance indicated that they were not going to be met without a much larger commitment by them.

This incidentally has caused a upsurge in attacks in Ukraine as well.
