Both major parties are guilty of using this tactic. This is a dog and pony show/temper tantrum that's analogous to threatening to walk out of a used car dealer's office when you can't get the deal you want.

But it's not a characteristic of good government (regardless of party) when what should be happening is working together on complex issues on behalf of their constituents.
