Exactly, its a bad argument to make.

I only notice it when minorities are places where they aren't likely to be in real life.

1. You said earlier you dont watch TV, so your entire opinion is based on the few TV shows and or films you watch over the internet

Even if you didnt agree with the studies, surely you understand the flaw in your logic there.

2. Sticking strictly to TV(because there are to many movies to count). Where are all of these minorities who are out of place in your mind ?

Most TV shows are set either in major cities(which actually have larger minority populations) or fictional words.

So what do you define that by ????

White people can pretty much be everywhere and have less barriers/are more comfortable being anywhere.

That last point must sting for you because it hints at societal bias against minorities. And I'm admitting it.

:tape
Not sure why that would sting, Dont you mean to say I should be elated because you admitted it ?

Do you think it's bad that if you went to Japan and looked at all their media/film the vast majority of actors are Asian? Or that if you look at their beauty magazines the vast majority are of Asian women? Same for countries like China, Korea etc. Same deal if you go to Africa, pretty sure the vast majority portrayed will be African. Or take India and Bollywood, vast majority of actors are, of course, Indian.

So to me it's just seems ridiculous when non-white people living in predominantly white countries say stuff like "Most of those you see in TV/Movies are white" "Beauty standards have been based off white women" "White people make up the majority of x" etc. etc. etc. Yeah, so? It kind of makes sense all of that will be based off of whoever makes up the majority if not the vast majority of people. That goes for whatever country. Yet apparently only white/western countries get lots of flack for it. Another way to look at it is that I am a woman and a big gamer yet understand why most video games are made for and marketed towards men. So do you think there is something wrong with it? If so, should we not be complaining big time to Japan and China, Korea etc. that they don't advertise a lot more African, Indian and Middle Eastern women? Or even white women for that matter?
It's not about good or bad.

IMO, The magazines/media/porn industry/movies etc are primarily NOT in business to promote diversity.

These industries are in business to make money. They will market what sells. (Of course by being within legal business practices).

If studies, statistics and business data indicate that a picture of a good looking white female on the front page could possibly be more attractive to a huge chunk of subscribers - and they are most likely to open their wallets - then that's what the businesses will most likely market.

If you are talking about TV commercials its just been recently that mixed race couples are portrayed in them and you almost never see a gay couple.

I'm talking about all forms of media. What is wrong with showing non-heterosexual and/or non-white people?

Most watch tv to be entertained. Not to be reminded of the Fkup world that is happening all around us now.
