Unlike this thread that goes on forever simply repeating the same mantras over and over. How does anyone have the mind to spend the time doing this sort of thing? If the market were to plunge 2,000 points tomorrow, there is no doubt in my mind the drop would be explained with exactly the same sort of irrationality that credits Trump with all the rise. Who plays the game of "heads I win and tails you lose" for this long and why?

I surely don't know, but I suppose it goes with the same sort of rationale -- and ego -- that is becoming famous among Trump supporters. In this regard and so many others, to be rational is no kind of prerequisite for political opinion...

Simply consider the road from any other period of time that took the Dow 6,000 points higher? Why and how did it happen? Compare and contrast...

Right!

Back to the mindless cheer leading regardless all the facts, reason and logic (as long as the market continues upward). What better way to take a thread for another 6,000 ego-boosting comments all about winning and losing, regardless what the market does? I wonder how many people commenting in this thread have changed their mind about how "Trump is absolutely the greatest for the economy" since this thread began...

Anyone?
Interesting to pick 2017 as the record setting year.

There was not one real economic policy out of the White House that would have explained this record setting year.

Interesting enough -- the big economic policy -- tax cut - came into effect in January 2018......meh -- good but not great.

What all this suggests -- The White House has little impact on the stock market.

China posts its lowest quarterly growth in 27 years as the ... - CNBC.com

China released second-quarter figures on Monday showing that its economy slowed to 6.2% — the weakest rate in at least 27 years, as the country’s trade war with the U.S. took its toll.

The second quarter economic growth was the country’s slowest pace since the first quarter of 1992 — the earliest quarterly data on record, according to Reuters.

Good news that the stock market is doing well. Do I attribute that to anything that Trump has done? Absolutely not. Administrations have little or no effect on the economy or American business. But it is an easy political tactic to take credit or cast blame, whichever is useful at any given time. Both parties do it - it is always amusing to watch but anyone with a brain takes these claims with a grain of salt.

After another day setting records its time to look at where this up leg started !!!
And the answer is below 25,000 on the DOW !!! A gain of about 2,500 points in 6 weeks !!!
Unbelievable as it might sound to some it can't go up forever !!!

That’s not true at all. All US presidents have direct control of the stock market, oil prices, and the unemployment rate via a secret control panel located in the Oval Office.
