The left: We need more skilled people in our workforce as low skilled jobs are being automated away.
Also the left: We need to import as many low skilled poor people from third world countries as possible.
Yup the left tries to fight poverty by importing more of it.
Unless you are a native American then your ancestors also came from someplace else.
Newsflash: Their ancestors came from somewhere else, too, and they weren't necessarily the first to get here. Wasn't it just this week that we heard (again) about the possibility that the people who traversed the Siberian land bridge were preceded by islanders from the South Pacific who reached the Americas earlier by boat?
And why would it matter that one's ancestors came from some place else, anyway? That's true of almost everyone everywhere! You think people should just have a right to invade other countries on that basis? A Hobbesian war of all against all, is that what you want?
Or would the world be better off if we all agreed to recognize borders and let people do their own thing in their own "safe spaces" otherwise known as countries?
Can anyone answer the question of HOW importing poor people from third world hell holes benefits the American people? I can't think of a single benefit.
That is how America was built in case you never learned history.
"Lower class people from third world countries" 100 years ago were Italians and eastern and southern Europeans. And laws were passed in 1920s to restrict those people. And let's not forget the Catholics- they were pretty "undesirable," too. Hard to believe that we're going down that road again, just with new "undesirables" that the racists deem as such.
