The federal government said on Saturday that it would resume accepting renewal requests for a program that shields from deportation young immigrants who were brought illegally to the United States as children.

Good, these young people need someone to make sure that they stay in the only home they have ever known. To send them back would be inhumane.

But Trump will keep messing with it, he hates to lose or be told he can't do something. He will blame it on everyone but him, as he always does.

Until a higher court reverses the order.

This wasn't SCOTUS, folks.

Just a local , low level judge.

As a firm believer in being a nation of laws, yes.

I like it when decisions where many have various views reach the highest court for resolution.

Oh I don't know about all that.

You and others can foam at the mouth all you wish, but future for either political party is going to involve Latino/Hispanic vote and other minorities as well. That simply is just how demographics of this country are breaking down.

DT/GOP won surprising numbers of Latino/Hispanics in last election cycle largely because of statements made by His Orangeness at the time supporting DACA and so forth. His now 360 degree turn can easily send those voters right into the arms of democrats and or they just won't vote at all. Either way it won't help GOP and or DT in long run.

Latino/Hispanic along with a few other minority voters while large and diverse have learned a thing or two from African Americans. That lot has largely been satisfied with whatever crumbs democrats throw out every now and then. The LT/H vote isn't going down like that; they have proven via at least two or three POTUS election cycles that they want results and are willing to reward or punish .

GOP knows this which is why they are having so many problems coming up with a solution to "immigration". OTOH they need to placate their white/anti immigration base, but the handwriting is on the wall. Without finding a way to reach Latino/Hispanics and other minorities large portions of the USA will simply write off the GOP.

You don't have to, but Rule of Law will prevail.

One way or another, this reaches SCOTUS, and they hear the case.

Wonder how Gorsuch will break the tie?

BTW, GOP retained same high 20s% Latinos as always.

A large % of legal immigrants are hardly sympathetic to illegal aliens, btw.

There are laws and then there are laws. These innocents were brought in without their consent, they were very young at the time. They did nothing wrong, maybe their parents did, but not them. To punish them, who have lived here and call this home, is simply being nasty and heartless. They just want the same opportunities and life we all have, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Temporary means temporary.

Again I am perfectly content to watch this rise through judicial channels.

I also would like a deal involving the wall, more ICE agents, punishment for the adults who brought them, DACA kids informing on and testifying against those who brought them, and DACA kids having done that, with no criminal record and all taxes paid, allowed to stay. (deal should include no family migration for those adults who brought them-EVER)..

Otherwise, I hope there is NO deal.
