I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

I think that all that are trying to shut down the government should read this. You took an oath and you are reigning. Your pay should be stopped immediately and then you should be arrested for treason.

But you have to prove they are TRYING to shut down the government and not just trying to make sure the right thing is done. It's fairly subjective.

'Shutting down the government' doesn't put us at risk because the essential military is not part of the shut down.

It is very meaningful. But it does not list penalties for violating it. That's its biggest fault.

And one that liberals (in both parties) depend heavily on, to accomplish their unconstitutional agenda.
