I'm not disputing some good points form both sides on these issues.
BUT the basic notion of using DACA or CHIP as bargaining tools to 'win' is disgusting. It's the swamp at its swampiest....and until we let ALL our politicians know we aren't impressed with any of them for playing this stupid game, they will continue.
Ending DACA would hurt the economy. Many DACA people are valued employees at businesses, and those businesses would be hurt if they lost them.

These are not "criminal illegals." These are people who came here as children -- a choice they did not make -- but have assimilated into our society. The majority of them have good jobs, pay taxes; a significant fraction of them are in college earning a degree.
Conservatives stereotype DACA people as unemployed migrants who illegal swam across the Rio Grande at night. It's a false characterization. Trump says he wants merit-based immigration; fine, the DACA people are the "keepers" so let's keep them.

Sorry Pedro, not buying it. Trump advertised himself as the deal maker....he ALONE could make Washington whole again. He had the responsibility to garner 60 votes. Buck stops with the impotent orangester. He said he would, he could. He promised. He said it was solely the president's responsibility if the government shut down back when Obama was president. He could have accepted the bipartisan deal. His puppeteer, Stephen Miller refused to accept it.

ASSIMILATED??? God, liberals are blind. Why don’t you create a website and offer to take a bus load in to support the rest of their lives? Of course, you won’t be allowed to pick and choose the “good” ones. You must not discriminate and will have to take the murderers, thieves of identity, scammers, and rapists. Because as you say, they have assimilated.
Would you support a law granting them citizenship while forbidding their parents visas, residency or citizenship?
I personally would have no problem with that. The parents were the criminals, the children were not. They were raised here and culturally, Americans. The only thing that separates them from us is a piece of paper. Send everyone who willfully does not follow are rule of law home. I believe that there are exceptions to every rule and the dreamers are the exception. If you start sending the parents back, how many dreamers will follow voluntarily? How many dreamers have no family left here and don't have family back in Mexico? Should they be sent to what's essentially a foreign country because they had no choice where to live as children? The haters would say so, but I think it's incredibly cruel. End DACA for future children. That could be a deterrent to future illegals, but grandfather the ones that are here.
The democrats are not supporting illegals over Americans. There was a bipartisan deal that Trump said he would sign, but, as usual, he went back on his word to feed an ever shrinking base.
One year to the day that Trump is in office and the government is shut down. Brilliant negotiation skills there. Enjoy.

Target those who employ these people and the issue largely goes away. No one is going to risk a potentially-deadly border crossing if there is no work for them on this side.

If Dems wanted DACA as a clean bill they should have done it when they had all three branches instead of shoving the ACA down the country's throat.
But instead, Obama did it as an unconstitutional executive order.......which is why Trump could recind it.
