It's a joke Frank in reference to the previous posters comment on toilet seats. The government pays what the private corporations charge. And it didn't go unnoticed to me that this was a sole source contract; no bids, no competition. But Boeing does make the aircraft so I guess they also get sole source/no contest on all the features inside too.

Lowes? Isn't Trump BFF with the guy who owns HD? Should be able to get a discount.

Yeah, that does sound quite spendy.

But it is not like they go out to Walmart and buy an off-the-shelf fridge, and stick-it in the corner of
AFO.

I would really love to see a breakdown of the cost for the installation of that fridge, start to finish.

The title is misleading because it claims refrigerators cost $24 million.

This is an upgrade that includes two refrigerator units.

Anyone that has any experience with aircraft knows that everything is wildly expensive.

the story line we heard from Obama when such price tags were made public..... well if Obama didn't do what Obama did, the cost would have been much higher!!!!

Nope. The story is true. And it is only part of the refrigeration system in that airplane. The problem is that the airplane is a one off and has to load the development cost of the system on a single two airplane contract.

I'm not sure what all the hullabaloo here is on this thread.

The original post was made to somehow tie Trump to this. Trump supporters jumped in and tried to say it wasn't the full cost of the refrigerators but included other things (it doesn't).

Let's face it...no matter who is president...it costs a ton of money to operate Air Force One.

The Left will try to make Trump look bad on this.

If Obama was president, the Right would be screaming about Obama and his fancy refrigerators.

Ridiculous. We all just need to shut up and figure out how we can get jobs at Boeing.

Spare no expense for Trump. Wow! This guy isn’t a King. He is a President. We don’t need expensive refrigerators for this moron.

I am fine with the possibility that there are other things going into AF1 that might not be public knowledge. That's the way a lot of black ops get funded. How do you think the SR-71 came to be?

There is nothing else but the refrigerators. I can view the whole contract. Nothing classified there at all. Just the refrigerators. But so what. Cost of doing business.
