Is amazing how this ongoing victimhood culture has already gave me urges to act out my victimhood points[Being autistic, being born in Latin America, struggling with weight, etc] and even I am trying to ditch this ****ty ass encouragement system because is creating more low-self esteem for me.
The glorification is one the rise.
So is is the glorification of victimhood ruining Western society?
A lot of people are buying into the idea that once you can declare "Actually, I'm the victim here", you've won. And before anyone starts giving this a political spin, let me assure you this happens across the spectrum.
A lot of actual victims are treated as if they're pulling that exact stunt. The amount of actual suffering that's being brushed off with a quick accusation that it's just "victim mentality" is quite staggering.

And there is also the debates sorrounding what Trumps what
And then there is the cancerous ideology of intersectionality.
All it does is remove responsibility, accountability and work ethic.
Your life is crappy because of everyone else. And if everyone would just give in to your demands, your life would be so much better. You don't have to do anything except complain long enough so people give you stuff.
It's a two way street, and the pressure keeps growing. (To fit in with your thread title, it's as if the "social climate" is warming, globally.)
I think the cry of victimhood is harmful. As Dane said (I think I read and understood correctly), it creates an environment where victims are doubted as "stunt-pullers". That in turn causes those who are truly victimized to scream louder AND AT THE SAME TIME, more people play the victim card. It's a cycle.
My observation is that onces something is labeled in society, such as the Me Too movement, it's impossible for people to unsee it. It means that some people see true injustices that they didn't notice before, and it ALSO means that people see injustices where they don't exist, and never did. These two scenarios collide, and people get more and more entrenched in their thoughts.
Conclusion: It is ruining our social climate AND in some ways, it's a natural evolution that would be very difficult to avoid. That's my opinion....

It's interesting you list "white males" as an option...some of the loudest "victims" of the last few years.
Victim culture can be a bit much, sure - but it has members of many different facets.
But really though, I am trying to resist the urge to join the victimhood system and be responsible for myself.
Men are more likely to go homeless
White people are more likely to be transgenders
Should they also join the victimhood game?
