I see a lot of projection in this thread.

This goes both ways. The number of people on this forum who blame Obama for the deficit is too numerous to count. What needs to be understood is that at least the House was and still is in Republican hands since 2010. The House is the body where spending legislation initiates.

Until we can accomplish entitlement reform, there is no point in even discussing a balanced budget or substantially reducing the national debt. Mandatory spending is about 2/3 of all spending now, and its percentage is growing rapidly. The Republicans control the White House and the House of Representatives, in the Senate it takes 60 votes, so they do not control that.

The inconvenient truth is that the Democrats will not permit our fiscal problems to be solved.

So, to be clear, when the stock market goes up or Trump steals credit for the economic recovery that started in about 2010, Trump is "running the nation and doing a great job!"

But when Trump fumbles around like an idiot, posts bigotry on Twitter, and tries to attack the very concept of law and order with his stupid memo trying to explain away his guilt, suddenly "left wingers shouldn't expect Trump to run the nation."

Right-wing hypocrisy is so obvious and so stupid.

Right-wingers love the way tyrants operate. They silence dissent and people who are different, which has been a core part of right-wing politics in this nation for some time. Their absurd worship of Trump - a man who they wouldn't have trusted with their money, house, or wife only a few years ago - is proof enough of this disturbing mindset. They don't care WHO they are worshiping, provided he will destroy the government, crush opposition, and silence minorities and dissenters. That is all Trump has brought to the table - you'd be insane to trust the man based on his long and public track record - but that is enough for them, making their real goals sickeningly apparent.

Because the formal description of the office includes "head of state".

We had 8 years of posters who thought Obama was micro managing every part of the federal government.

Now trump is the CEO?

Y'alls expectations are confusing.

And even POTUS Trump said he was the only one who could run the country.

America is prospering greatly under president Trump, and the ignorant democrats are going along for the ride.
The best news is that he has saved America by preventing corrupt hillary from continuing obama's reign of terror.
He has exposed the corruption that obama and hillary have thrived on, now America can be great again.
America is so lucky to have him, as are the democrats, who appear to be to stubborn and/or ignorant to admit it...
