He is one of the few good ones. The GOP is full of go along, to get along Establishment Republicans that only care about expanding government, and their own wealth, and power.
Rand Paul is a respected Eye Doctor, and was attacked not too long ago while CUTTING HIS OWN LAWN.
He should be organizing conservatives, working the grass roots, raising money, etc., if he's really serious about forming a meaningful conservative movement. He should be out there working, telling people what he's for, where he would cut government (Afghanistan is drop in the bucket), whose oxen would be gored.
You have to build on what you are for, not what you are against and he doesn't do that.
I agree wholeheartedly. As a lifetime fiscal conservative, this new proposal infuriates me. Everything Rand Paul said yesterday was true. Democrats wanted to spend hundreds of billions of dollars, and Republicans condemned it. Now, Republicans want to spend hundreds of billions of dollars, and democrats condemned it. And yet now, they've both agreed to spend hundreds of billions of dollars.
Obama and democrats wanted to spend hundreds of billions years ago and I hated it. Now, the GOP wants to spend hundreds of billions and I hate it. Both complained about the national debt yet agreed to pass this bill.
Unfortunately for us citizens, most of our politicians are hypocrites and their actions are driven by lobbyists and self-interest. They campaign by selling us promises and pretending to care about us regular people, but all that goes out the window as soon as they take office.
His point last night was to remind Republicans of their roots...that they used to be concerned about the massive deficit. It is scary where all this spending is going to end. The interest rates we're paying to borrow money is killing us.
