It's not just equipment, though. In some countries, there is government and/or corporate support for training, so instead of having to work to support themselves and train on the side, some athletes get to train as their full time job.
There's really no feasible way of eliminating the fact that some athletes will have advantages that others lack.
The Romans, where the Olympics originated, had them compete while naked.
(yeah, I'd admit that 2000 years later, it's no longer feasible. as this topic demonstrates, it's easy to get people outraged over a nothing event.)

That is not true. They could put rules in place that govern the amount of hours that can be spent training, put a cost cap in place, ban private coaches, ban the use of government or corporate funds, put a 'salary cap" in place so athletes cannot get paid $$$$$$$ endorsing products. It would never be completely fair but there are ways to make it much better than it is now.

Why should there be a limit on hours training? Takes hours of training to even qualify for the olympics. You think someone who half asses it is going to qualify? Lol, absurd.
I accidentally dropped the flag into the shrubs in front of my house one July 4 morning as I was trying to wedge it into the holder on the front porch pillar.
Same thing Shaun White did; different circumstances.
No big deal. Move on to the next poutrage.

Amen to that. When did so many people start wearing blinders?
He is not black, so racist trump supporters are fine with it.
Man, you leftists grow crazier by the day, I swear this is true. You do realize that Trump supporters are FAR bigger supporters of the flag than you lefties, correct? You crazed socialist dummies should be the ones "fine" with Shaun dragging the flag on the ground. Actually, I'm surprised one of your kind didn't rip the flag out of his hands and light it on fire.

You want crazy? Check out the poster who is so incensed that he thinks White should do a PSA. You can practically see the spittle foaming out of his mouth from his rage. Now that, my friend, is crazy.
