Other countries ALSO do not arm their troubled young people with weapons of war.
We are not "arming" them. They are arming themselves.

And yes the connection between these medications and the propensity to violence needs to be investigated. There was a link upthread that showed the correlation between each major school shoooting and these pharmaceuticals. IIRC, Dylan Roof (the Charleston church shooter) was also on, or had been on, these medications.

It strikes me that other countries also require military service. I wonder if that helps screen some troubled young people.

YET - DTJ overturned Obama's proposal that those collecting SSI for severe depression or mental illness NOT be allowed to purchase guns.

So Republicans talk about mental issues - and they take zero action on that as well. They can't even take that tiny slice of the population - collecting SSDI for severe depression - and vote to deny them a gun. (Or those on the no-fly list for God's sake)

Now you suggest expanding that to everyone who takes an SSRI or SNRI which is probably 40% of the entire population.

Never going to happen.

So we investigate the link between medications and violence but we do nothing about the ability to get guns and the resulting violence from that? I'd guess that not all school shooters are on drugs, but all school shooters do have one thing in common. They were able to get guns.

Yeah but lots of kids are on some type of medication these days. So it makes sense that a ramage killer would also be on them, especially if he had a history of bad behavior.

Never going to happen.

The Republicans want due process before stripping someone of their rights because they appeared on a list. Silly Republicans expecting the rule of law to apply to everyone.

They have a few other things in common too....they are mostly lefties, democrats, antifa, BLM and other extremists.

Why does the link between medication (which helps many more people than it hurts) and violence need to be investigated but the link between AR15s and violence doesn't?

Silly Republicans voting the way their NRA Sponsor tells them to. Silly Republicans voting once again to protect guns over and above protecting our kids.

Remember when assault weapons were banned?

Once again, someone is blaming their political opposites instead of trying to solve the problem of school shootings. You're not just misguided, but you're wrong, too
