Love the poll addition. The FBI was in the best position to stop this and received multiple tips from multiple sources and did nothing. Other than the shooter, I would give them 95% of blame.

Not so fast....it seems that the police department and school district had an agreement going to severely restrict the discipline of students in order to make their numbers look better for Federal funding and such...

So what!

We should therefore lie dormant and complacent while these mass-shootings continue to destroy our country.

Americans should be able to carry out their daily routines of living without the continued psychological burden of constant fear when attending school, at the workplace, in route to either.

Americans should not hesitate to go to places of entertainment, like a tavern, a restaurant, a theater, or a concert.

How long can these mass-shootings take place before they eventually negatively effect the economy and the overall American psyche?

For the last time people, the problem is the widespread availability of firearms. An availability made certain by the arms industry with the cooperation of a GOP led congress, due to the strong lobbying arm of the NRA.

Alright, this time it's the FBI's fault!

What about the next time?

Who's fault will it be then?

Get it!

your not getting it...the issue is not the gun

the issue is mental illness..which the left refuses to address correctly

how was the florida shooter able to buy one??

how was he as a 17/18 year old able to buy one in 2016....with NO JOB and income

how was he in 2016 while ON MEDS, under MENTAL care able to buy one... any one

the issue is not a gun, any type of gun.... the issue is how does a mentally ill kid, with anger issues, with no job, pass the background check BY THE SHERRIFF'S office to get a permit to purchase... no only one, but apparently he had 10 weapons.... the issue is mental illness and the ability of mentally ill people to buy weapons...that needs to be fixed

Alright then, blame the FBI, the PD, the school district's administration, the ATF, Youtube, Facebook, any scapegoat you want. That only points to a few minor flaws within a massively flawed and quite seriously corrupt legal system

It's corrupt legislatively, due to NRA bribed law-makers. It's corrupt judicially, due to the fact that judges are sworn to uphold the laws that corrupt GOP law-makers have written.

Finally, LE officers become both overwhelmed and stymied at the fact that in most cases, they are powerless in disarming would-be firearm offenders and mass-shooters, because prior to the actual horrific criminal event, the perpetrator appears to behave totally within the law. Many have no criminal or mental illness history.

Once again, it's the long history of the NRA making these weapons of war available to the American public with the paid assistance of a GOP led congress. All orchestrated by the arms industry, who wouldn't give a rat's hiny if we totally wiped one another out, as long as they continue to sustain their multi-billion dollar industry.

The NRA owns the Republican Party! It's that simple...

Come back after you've read my previous references. Heck! If mental illness was the sole factor, most of us would be locked up somewhere at this very moment!

We all stray the line of sanity from time to time. IMO, it's always a matter of degree when it comes to mental stability.

Many Americans still believe in spirits and ghosts.

Is that sane?

Many Americans feel that their race is superior and that all others are insignificant.

Is that sane?

Many men think that women only exist for the sole purpose of bringing them pleasure.

Is that sane?

However, many of these very same people both own and carry semi-automatic firearms.

Is that sane?

It doesn't matter, because they're far too many of these people and far too many guns. All we can do at this point is to attempt to slow the hemorrhage with a badly frayed belt.

That belt I'm afraid is some type of very strict gun control.

The point is, there are already laws on the books that would have prevented that kid from buying any gun had the various LEO's done their job. The minute this kid made threats against the school/students I believe it made him ineligible to buy or possess a gun had it been reported properly.

He would have failed the background check from then on and caused a seizure of his guns right then.
If I'm incorrect I'm sure someone will chime in...
I don't see a claimed threat as grounds for removal of his guns, certainly worthy of an investigation but not loss of his 10 guns. A majority of states like Florida do not allow family member or law enforcement to request courts to remove guns from people deemed a threat.

Yeah, there's two unbiased sources. Probably couldn't find two more ultra left leaning gun hating websites on the internet...

The NRA is simply representative of their citizen members and doesn't contribute very much money compared to many other contributors...But then you KNOW that and refuse to stop lying.

Likewise, you also know that you cannot come up with a single law that would prevent this stuff.

There are always many people dropping the ball and ignoring the signs...but you already knew that too!

There are far more culprits in killing Americans than guns but you focus on guns because you are ignorant and afraid of them due to your projections of how you feel about one in your own hands...probably because of a deep seated inferiority complex surrounding you own jealousy of those you see as stronger than yourself. So you project your frustrated feelings of holding a gun onto others who like guns...

You cannot come up with a solution but totally ignore every single solution presented because they require a change that takes effort instead of your liberal ways of "dioing something" that has no effect except to make you FEEL like you did something...no real work involved, it's very easy...it's the liberal way!

You are worse than sheep, you are a sheep that resents the shepard and champions the wolf...the only reason the wolf hasn't eaten you is because the shepard does his job in spite of your FEELINGS....you benefit from the work of those you hate.
