I think it is odd how the Left is blaming the NRA for the school shooting in Florida last week.
It is like blaming the insurance company for a drunk driver that crashes their car?
The NRA does take a hard line stance on gun rights because they know that if they give an inch the anti gunners will take a mile. This tug of war has been going on for decades.
The NRA convention in Dallas is coming up and the mayor of that city is telling the NRA to find another city.
The vast majority of NRA members love their country, history, heritage and abide by its laws.
I can't help but think that if this mayor that is denouncing the organization wouldn't be grateful to have a NRA member that knows how to handle a firearm next to him if he found himself in a dangerous spot.
What do you think? Should the NRA find another city for it's convention?
Every time there is a mass shooting, liberals blame the NRA. This belief is equivalent to blaming home builders for people committing domestic violence in their houses or blaming car manufacturers for people killing others while driving drunk. I am an extreme liberal, but I find that belief ridiculous. The shooter is responsible for shootings, not a special interest group. From the NRA website itself:
"Establishing the NRA Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization, provided a means to raise millions of dollars to fund gun safety and educational projects of benefit to the general public. Contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible and benefit a variety of American constituencies including youth, women, hunters, competitive shooters, gun collectors, law enforcement agents and persons with physical disabilities."
The NRA is designed to educate and promote gun SAFETY. It has never advocated the illegal operation or ownership of guns. But liberals continue to assume what the NRA believes in and represents without doing the tiniest amount of research. As for the location of the conference, maybe moving to where they are more welcome would be better for them. Why go to a city that already expressed negative feelings?
the mayor pro tem caraway, not the dallas city mayor wants the nra to find a different city for its convention. caraway has no authority to speak for the city of dallas and was grandstanding about his personal opinion.

I have to wonder if the SCOTUS would actually ever allow that to happen or if it's just a convenient fear-mongering argument that keeps people like LaPierre comfy with a very healthy compensation package?

The NRA loves the gun manufacturers more than our country. They have the best politicians money can buy but I blame the politicians for putting their election over safety.

They will find another place to unload over a million dollars into the community.
