Homeless people have to move to warmer and wealthier areas.
Of course it isn't because you opened the doors for all the illegals and turned your backs on legal Americans! Back when I used to be a Democrat the Party actually talked about the homeless; now you only care how you can help those that aren't citizens. Sure; try to blame your problems, that you created, on the Republicans. Remember that these are 'blue' state cities! You have turned into a Party that blames; but never repairs or acknowledges fault!
I really don't understand how people think this is amusing or even the fault of San Francisco which is one of our wealthiest cities.
The homeless and drug addicted congregate wherever their needs are met.
This is a national problem not a local one.
Actually, it's a pretty heavy duty west coast problem. Seattle has issues, too.
Uh. Cant stand SF politics but this is one of the dumbest things I have read in a while. BTW, parts of Detroit are doing quite well and at least the western burbs are outright booming.

relatively mild climate + liberal attitude of pro homeless rights (- hypocritical NIMBY ism when the homeless show up near nice residential areas) = Lotsa homeless. Add in skyrocketing costs and the commercialization of the eviction industry and it is quite a storm brewing.

Sorry, but Seattle, with the 3rd largest homeless population problem in the US, has a crappy climate. Rainy much of the year.
There are worse places to live. For instance, how would you love to live in the red state hell hole of Atoka County in Oklahoma where the average age at death is 36.
^^^^^ I'd rather live in Atoka County, and I'm a fifth generation SF Bay Area native whose family first came to San Francisco in the mid 1840s.

They go where they aren't thrown out. That's why towns always threw them out. When you don't throw them out they stay. Especially where it's not too cold and they get free food.
If SF wants no homeless, they should have the cops herd them out. That what's always been done. A side benefit was that there were fewer homeless overall as potential bums got the message before they became real ones.
And yet the housing costs and rents are among the highest in the nation. There must be something there that you don't want to acknowledge.
Silicon Valley. It is a shame, because SF is/was a beautiful city. I enjoyed my time living there.
