There will be no meaningful gun control measures. We have 22,000 gun laws on the books already. One more won't do anything. Relax.

The sputtering, feminized Libs will lose again.

Bump stocks will be gone. The ATF went back and forth on pistol braces/cheek rests. The ATF will simply rewrite their position on the bump stock.

Looking back to 1992. GHWB had agreed to sweeping new gun restrictions, as well as abandoned his no new taxes pledge. These two acts cost him the election and saddled us with the sexual-assaulter in chief. I have to wonder if Trump's sellout on conservative issues won't do the same.
No. The strong base that would object to any gun control will always vote Republican.. They will blame liberals for pressuring the President. Not his fault he has to cave -- blah blah blah.

Any leader should do something instead of nothing. We say it's guns but leaders, including our branches of government, do nothing to change it. They say it's mental health yet there are high numbers of mental health problems in other countries but they don't have a mass murder epidemic.

Laws have to be changed all around from HIPAA, gun control and society reporting responsibilities including schools, families, hospitals, churches etc. We need to not just look at gun control because we've seen that if crazies don't have access to guns they use other things like knives, trucks etc. We need to look at numerous things.

Even the breakdown of the family unit amongst these killers. We need not just to look at HIPPA because we saw with Vegas that the guy was never treated. We have numerous problems to look at here folks.

They need to look at every aspect of the problem and start creating laws and policies to reduce this horrific problem. Talk to other countries. They fixed their problem. We should too.

It's devasting that those children, teens, teachers, and coaches lost their lives trying to make the world better. Students working hard for dreams of a future to be our future doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, entertainers, plumbers, retail managers, veterinaries, scientists, military, psychologists, astronauts etc. The children and adults that survived will have PTSD or be affected by what they witnessed for the rest of their lives. Parent, brother, sisters and other family members reeling from the emptiness and pain of losing their family. During Sandy Hook, listening to young siblings missing their brother or sister, not fully understanding why and how.

The teacher and coaches were there to watch them make their dreams come true. Then in an instant, those beautiful lives were taken because of a coward. Then kids have to go march and beg politicians that adults elected into office to help them make a change. Unless adults act together and do something that is productive, we will have another coward coming to a town near you.

Just look at the kids banding together to "march for their lives". Some will be old enough to vote in the mid terms, all by 2020. Do you think they will vote R
Think of all the anti gun people jumping on this bandwagon. If something isn't done and done they way they think it should be , do you really think any of them will vote R ?

You know whatever comes out of the White House on this will never be enough for the anti gun crowd, so count their votes out.

I really think the GOP, Conservatism and firearms rights are in jeopardy right now.
With good reason.

If the GOP was a reasonable party, with reasonable leaders, and *just so happened* to be gun fanatics, they'd be OK. But they're more like a cancer, now, that spews propaganda and exists for the sole purpose of 'getting elected.' 15 years ago I was a Republican, now I could sit here and write 10,000 words on why they are the United States #1 problem.

They're poisoning the well, so to speak. Young people aren't going to forgive the GOP for this as they get older.

That`s not compromising, that`s caving in to the gun/criminal lobby.

Bump stocks are really a non issue as there are not that many people who actually use them. They are pretty worthless all in all and if they took them off the shelves it wouldn't cause me any angst. But, as you say, I'd be happy to give up bump stocks and trigger cranks etc for CCW reciprocity and trained, armed people on school campuses.

Seeing these ridiculous "gun free zones" that are nothing but feel good measures that only invite madmen to target these areas. Predators tend to favor helpless prey.

Why should I give you something I already have if you are unwilling to offer anything in return?

It appears any ban by the ATF on bump stocks may not stand so what would you offer in return for banning bump stocks through Congressional actions?

Sweeping generalization there.

Either misinformation or a blatant lie. "The Left" has collectively been more against a total ban, than for it. You are quoting pro-gun propaganda as fact, and it will only work on those whom you already don't need to convince.

(I am from "the left" and am not for a total ban. "I've made it clear".
