Haha. That's great. I love it. I am almost ashamed to admit that on my one time seeing the Reverend Graham speak in the 80s, I was more impressed with a girl I rode down on the bus with and sat with at the stadium. In my defense, she was fiinnneeee!
I had nothing against the man personally, but Billy Graham was a private citizen and religious figure not a politician, so why is he being afforded a priviledge normally reserved for Presidents and National political leaders?

He's not the first citizen to be so honored. There have been others in the past, but the last, Rosa Parks, was quite a while ago now.
Congress can authorize a lying in state anytime they want. But because it is such a rare honor, reserved mostly for past Presidents, Congress likes to keep it rare.
Graham will probably be the last preacher to ever get it. He was singular as a spiritual advisor; he had prayed with every President from Truman to Obama, and that's very unlikely to ever happen again. Graham was particularly close to Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Nixon.

Will other televangelists get their turn in the Rotunda?
Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, and Tammy Faye have missed their turn, but what about Jim Baker?
Jimmy Swaggert?
Joel Osteen?
Pat Robertson?
Sure, why not stretch it to the guy with the heavy Southern accent that comes on every Sunday at 4 in the morning?
I'm no fan of Evangelicals but frankly I don't care. I suppose he's one of those people that is very loved by a large number of Americans and has a significant place in history.
That's good enough for now if it's that important to millions of Americans. Don't be such a negative Nancy about it. And if you don't want him there just because your a left winger, too bad. Cry yourself a river over it.

Sure, why not the guy at 4 am talking about the how the Lord wants you to send him money? Only difference between him and Billy Graham is the size of his audience.
Lot of Americans love Oprah. Should she be laid out in the Rotunda when the time comes?
Constitution is clear that our government should stay out of the business of religion.
It is clear you like to complain.
