Bull crap. You have no idea what you are talking about. Have you ever seen anyone shot with an M-16?

Facts are useless to those that base decisions on emotions.

Sure, but the AR seems to be the weapon of choice for a lot of these idiots. It is only one example of the guns that we, as a civilized society, need to start taking a look at to determine if they should be as readily available as they currently are.

Just like we can no longer order guns mail order, and have them shipped to our homes with no questions asked, we need to toughen up the requirements for all guns. When a 19 year old kid can amass an arsenal, something is wrong.

Believe me, we on the left do not have an exclusive on that one.

AR-15 is the weapon of choice of the mass-killers (for whatever reason). I have not heard anyone argue they choose it because it fires .223 round.

Your problem is that you argue against points no one has made. Its a straw man game.
Do you really believe that if not for this particular gun, those with a desire to kill would not?

There we go. That's what I was getting at. It's not about this gun, it's about restricting guns overall.

To do that you are going to have to change the Constitution. Since the Constitution allows for that to happen I will not argue against your right to do just that.

We might be able to restrict certain people from easily buy a gun. The Constitution also allows for that through due process. For some reason we are not interested in doing that, we want to concentrate on things that aren't going to get done.

Perhaps, instead of getting rid of the horrible AR-15, we should lock it up in an armory along with other assault weapons ... and throw away the key.

That way, these deadly weapons would stop going out into the streets and shooting people!

No one said that. Another straw man argument? Why play games?

When i see people say, "i'm okay with just banning AR's" it shows how uninformed, ignorant or emotional based they are.

I'd have much more respect for them if they just said they want an all out ban, even though i don't agree.

Recoil.

I’ve shot a semiautomatic AR-10 and AR-15 rifle. I’m able to easily shoot them quickly with little to no pain from recoil.

I’ve also shot a 30-06. It’s not something I’d shoot more than a handful of rounds in before walking away (likely with a bruised shoulder).

The .223 round is easier to shoot in high quantities as it has less recoil. Sure people could have chosen other guns but then they’d have to take their time practicing and building proficiency as they’re simply not as easy to shoot as AR-15 styled rifles.
