If someone’s loved one is killed by a car , do they get rid of their cars ?
Then we would pass driving and car laws and regulations such as mandatory registration, learner's permits, road tests, written tests, licensing, insurance, seat belts, car seats, booster seats, yearly inspections, license renewal with eye exams, accident reporting, rules of the road, speed limits, restricting cell phone use, etc. Oh wait...we already have those things in place.

Driving a car is a privilege, not a right. You can lose that privilege any time the state desires to take it away.
Not all states have yearly inspections.
There are currently more than 20,000 firearms related laws. Perhaps if more of them were enforced, the anti-gun crowd would shut up and let those of us who legally own firearms stop beating a dead horse.
what about those of us that were not shot but did face a gun? many have been robbed at gun point, like myself, and still support the second amendment.
I shudder to think of how differently a couple of incidents could have turned out for me had I not been carrying at the time. Both were attempted robberies/muggings and in both cases the perpetrators decided they had an urgent appointment elsewhere when I drew my firearm. No shots fired, no police report, situation over.
All schools need an armed security team stationed at all school during class hours. Enough is enough. Teachers cannot arm themselves as soldiers overnight. It sucks it's come to this but like air marshals installed on planes after 9/11 we need some type of defense. Im in NYC and we use this for mass events like the NYE ball drop and large public events so far with good results.

This is the outcome of the vast majority of encounters with good guys with a gun. However, they rarely get reported, because essentially nothing happened. No shots fired, Perp runs away at the sign of a gun.

My post was in response to an absolutely ludicrous comparison between guns and cars. And what is the difference if some states have yearly mandatory inspections and others do not? The fact remains that many states do but that is not the subject of the thread so why the nitpicking?
And btw...The dead horse was not dead for the 200 hundred years that gun laws were in place until an activist supreme court justice decided to distort the 2nd amendment. And maybe the gun-fondlers and ammosexuals should be told that the USA now has a National Guard so there is no longer a need for "A well regulated militia".

How was the Second Amendment "distorted"? It has been an Individual Right since day one.
