I get Trump is only joking, but it’s still concerning when someone with his position and authority makes that sort of joke. The office of the president deserves more respect then that.

The left does political humor very well and it's actually the right that has difficulty with it. Fox news tried an ill-fated attempt about 10 years ago because of their acknowledgment of the effectiveness of Jon Stewart.
Some speculated about Obama wanting it, without him uttering a single word.

Yes--terrible sense of humor. Odd that so many comedians are lefties.

Please do tell us all about all of the alt-right comics (aside from Bannon).

And you are wrong. The left hears what Trump says and takes him seriously, unlike the right who constantly make excuses for his lunacy.

I think he meant it to be a joke.

He has a dry sense of humor which a lot of people do not catch. This wasn't so bad, he's said more controversial things, however he needs to be careful

I might agree with you on other subjects. This one is really inappropriate.

No one knows if he was joking or serious. Personally I think he was dead serious but since he can't sign an EO making himself president-for-life, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Sweet Mother of Toast. Have I slipped into an alternative universe? Because I'm pretty sure people thought that Obama ( who could not wait to leave office) wanted to be president / king forever, and now we have this??!!!

No. He's not.

You or I would be saying that in sarcasm. He isn't. Watch it again.
