Chinese President Xi Jinping recently consolidated power. Trump told the gathering: "He's now president for life. President for life. And he's great." Trump added: "I think it's great. Maybe we'll give that a shot someday."
Those of us with normal perception, have known that dictator status was Trump's goal, ever since he launched his candidacy. Putin says he regrets that the Soviet Union disbanded. Maybe China, Russia and the U. S. can rule the whole world in a triumvirate of totalitarianism? Can you just imagine the Three Amigos forming a joint secret service, that would stamp out dissent and challenges to power, before they could ever gain a foothold.
It could be far worse than Orwell ever predicted in "1984". Are we going to just complacently lie back and let this happen? What happens in the elections this year, will seal our fate, one way or the other. If the Republicans remain in a majority in congress, they will do nothing to save our democracy.
